1. Largest Human Pi Symbol

On March 8, 2023, Westwood High School math teacher Elizabeth Ruiz gathered 2,036 people to create the largest human pi symbol in celebration of Pi Day.

2. Most Self-Portraits (Selfies) Taken in One Hour

On January 27, 2015, Patrick Peterson, then cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals, and NBC Sports took 1,449 selfies with students and faculty at Deer Valley High School in Glendale.

3. Largest UFO Convention

The 23rd International UFO Congress held in Scottsdale in 2014 attracted a total of 1,500 attendees during its week-long convention.

4. Largest Pair of Scissors

The Arizona Science Center created a 3-meter pair of scissors to cut the ribbon at the opening of their “Science of Guinness World Records” exhibit on May 19, 2023.

5. Most Likes for a Cat on Facebook

Grumpy Cat, a household name, became the most popular cat on Facebook with 8,759,819 likes as of May 3, 2017. The grumpy feline, who went viral in 2012, lived with her owner, Tabatha Bundesen, in Morristown.

6. Longest Male Leg Hair

Jason Allen’s leg hair, measuring 22.3 centimeters, was recorded on May 27, 2015, in Tucson.

7. Longest Monster Truck

Brad and Jen Campbell of Big Toyz Racing built a 32-foot-long monster truck in White Hills on July 10, 2014. The truck was intended to serve as a “limousine” for tourists from Las Vegas.

A Batmobile used in the 1960s Batman TV show sold for $4,620,000 at the Barrett-Jackson car auction in Scottsdale on January 19, 2013.

9. Largest Serving of Salsa

El Sol Foods and Arizona Hemophilia made the largest serving of salsa on March 7, 2024, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge. The salsa serving weighed 7,308 pounds.

10. Longest Chimichanga

Macayo’s in Phoenix made a 25-foot-7-inch chimichanga to celebrate the chain’s 75th anniversary on September 25, 2021.
