For the eighth edition of the Los Cabos Open, the lineup includes several tennis players who are ranked among the top ten in the world rankings.

As it draws nearer to its start, the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo 2024 is beginning to rev up, and fans are ready to be part of one of the most globally recognized tournaments, a part of the ATP.

The announcement of the 8th edition of the tournament caused excitement among fans, following the confirmation of the attendance of multiple well-known names positioned in the Top 10 of the world rankings, such as Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, and Casper Ruud. Additionally, Alex de Minaur, the finalist from the previous edition, joins them, increasing the anticipation and competitiveness.

This is one of the best lineups for the Mifel, where Tsitsipas (the current champion) will defend his title and seek to demonstrate his skill level to add another achievement to his long list at only 25 years old.

Who are the other participants in the Mifel Tennis Open?

Among other notable names is Christopher Eubenaks, an American who surprised the world by earning a spot in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2023. The event will also feature the presence of Mackenzie McDonald, J.J. Wolf, and Max Purcell, who will increase the level of competitiveness and quality experienced at the event.

Other names on this list include Jordan Thompson, Daniel Evans, Jack Draper, Miomir Kecmanovic, Dominik Koepker, and Diego Schwartzman at the international level.

Mexico will also have representation in the tournament with the participation of Rodrigo Pacheco and Ernesto Escobedo in the main singles draw.

Adding to the excitement, in the previous edition of the tournament, the doubles title was won by the home team with a remarkable performance by Santiago González alongside Edouard Roger-Vasselin, generating expectations about who the next champions will be.

The main draw will feature 28 players in singles and 16 pairs in doubles.

A week full of activity

The eighth edition of the Mifel Tennis Open will be held in Los Cabos from February 19 to 24 at the Cabo Sports Complex (CSC), one week before the Mexican Telcel Open in Acapulco, featuring two high-level competitions in Latin America taking place on Mexican soil.

The Mextenis organization is ready to host the ATP 250 and 500 tournaments respectively, expecting more than 30,000 fans during the week of activity in Los Cabos, where the multifunctional complex boasts top-level modern facilities.

The CSC features a stadium with a capacity for 3,500 fans, a Grandstand that can accommodate 1,500 people, and three additional courts that can easily be adapted to host 800 more fans.

José Antonio Fernández, the tournament director, expressed great enthusiasm for the lineup that will be presented, as well as the new date of the event where the weather at the venue will play an important factor during the competition.

“What excites me the most about the eighth edition is having so much talent in players and the new date. The weather is wonderful, and that will give an extra boost to the tournament; in addition, boasting four Top 10 players. Not many 250 tournaments have that,” emphasized Fernández, adding that “it is a huge challenge to organize both tournaments for the first time in consecutive weeks.”

The Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo 2024 promises to be one of the most important sporting events of the year held in Mexico, and it is also one of the most anticipated by fans and Mexicans in general.
