The singer from Hermosillo, Carin León, was invited to open the concert for the English rock band, Rolling Stones, during their stop at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
Regional Mexican music is expanding worldwide and reached the ears of the legendary rock band, the Rolling Stones, which is why they invited Carin León, one of the genre’s greatest exponents, to open one of their concerts.
The Stones Tour ’24 Hackney Diamonds, during its stop in Glendale, Arizona, will feature the presence of Sonoran Carin León, who admitted that taking the stage at the State Farm Stadium on May 7th will be one of his dreams come true.
“This is one of those things you dream about when you’re a kid,” shared the Sonoran in a post on his Instagram, where his fans and colleagues congratulated him on the journey he has taken and the significance this moment will have in his career.
Luis Fonsi commented: “Holy shit!!!!!!!!!! Congrats bro, that’s incredible,” and Pedro Capó wrote “Durooooo!!! Well deserved, my bro!” on his post, along with other comments from fans, who mentioned that he is the pride of Sonora for the world.
Carin León has demonstrated his significance in the music scene, especially in the regional Mexican genre, with a Latin Grammy for Best Norteño Album thanks to “Colmillo de Leche,” and hits like “Primera Cita” and “Según Quién.” The Hermosillo native has climbed the popularity charts on both Spotify and Billboard.
The American audience loves Carin León’s music. In fact, he has sold out stadiums across the United States during his Colmillo de Leche Tour.
Now he will experience a unique moment alongside one of the most historic bands in international music. The band will tour North America with their tour to present their new studio album “Hackney Diamonds,” and they will do so from April 28th to July 17th.
On March 20th, both The Rolling Stones and Carin León announced that the Mexican singer will be the one opening the band’s concert in Arizona.
The announcement that Carin León would be the opening act for the Rolling Stones generated a wide range of reactions. While many artists and fans continue to express their excitement and congratulations towards the Mexican singer, the British band’s social media accounts were filled with criticisms and complaints about this decision.
“We are thrilled to announce that Carin León will open our show at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on May 7th. Please, give him a warm welcome!” reads the band’s official announcement.
The criticisms in the comments were diverse; some questioned the organizers’ decision, others wondered if it was a joke, and some even requested a change of opening act.
“Qué hueva,” “Is this a joke?,” “We deserve extinction,” “Seriously?,” “How unpleasant,” “No way,” “Carin León is listened to by people with social problems,” “Accepting this kind of musicians at Rolling Stones concerts is just going to let the band humiliate them,” were some of the comments.
Despite the criticisms, the singer reacted positively to the event, thanking for the opportunity to open one of the shows of the British’s Hackney Diamonds tour.
Tickets for the concert are available through Ticketmaster, offering a wide range of options for all budgets. General admission tickets start at $79 dollars, while VIP seats are priced at $798 dollars. This translates to approximately 1,300 to 13,300 Mexican pesos.
