The music world began 2025 in mourning after the passing of Argentine singer Leo Dan at the age of 82. Known for his prolific career, which included more than 70 albums and hits like “Mary es mi amor” and “Te he prometido,” Leo Dan left a legacy that extended far beyond the music industry.

The artist was also recognized for his association with healing powers, which began after he formed a close friendship with Pachita, a mystical healer from Chihuahua, Mexico. Pachita was remembered for her supernatural abilities, including performing organ transplants with her bare hands.

Leo Dan Earned the Title of “Healer” Through His Friendship with Pachita

Bárbara Guerrero, known as Pachita, is a celebrated figure in Mexico for her miraculous surgeries and supernatural abilities. Her work even inspired neurophysiologist Jacobo Grinberg, who integrated her practices into his synergetic theory. Leo Dan frequently discussed his friendship with Pachita in interviews, revealing that he had witnessed her remarkable procedures and was deeply impressed by her abilities.

In an interview on the iconic Mexican TV program Siempre en Domingo, host Raúl Velasco asked Leo Dan about his involvement in Pachita’s procedures. Velasco mentioned accounts from other witnesses claiming that Leo Dan assisted Pachita by stopping bleeding and closing wounds. While the singer denied actively participating, he confirmed having witnessed “wonderful things” and often brought doctor friends to observe Pachita’s miraculous cures.

This relationship sparked speculation about Leo Dan’s own supposed healing powers. Argentine journalists visiting Mexico associated him with Pachita’s miracles, spreading his fame beyond the music world. In certain circles, he was nicknamed “healer” or “shaman,” a title he addressed with humility.

In a 2013 interview with La Capital, Leo Dan shared a touching anecdote. A man told him that his critically ill daughter survived after Leo Dan placed his hand on her. Although the singer didn’t recall the event, he attributed the outcome to his faith in Jesus Christ, stating: “Jesus Christ healed when there was faith.”

Un pequeño grito de fe: Leo Dan’s Book on Faith and Healing

He’s experiences with Pachita and the stories surrounding their friendship inspired him to write the book Un pequeño grito de fe (A Small Cry of Faith). In this work, he reflects on the power of prayer and his personal journey with Jesus Christ. While he never considered himself a healer, his faith played a central role in his life.

“I met a woman in Mexico named Pachita, and she had a supernatural gift for healing. Somehow, people involved me with her and began saying, ‘Leo Dan heals.’ They gave me a reputation as a healer, so I wrote this book to explain that prayer is very powerful,” he said in an interview with El Escenario de los Clásicos.
