The event was shared through a Twitter user, Luis Araujo, who made a post narrating what happened.

What baseball team did Rob Schneider invite?

“The comedian gave money to the team so they could have dinner when he met them at the airport on their way back to Mexico. More stories like these,” reads the post from the user @luisaraujo_hdz.

On his part, Rob Schneider shared the photo he took with the team, adding the caption: “My new friends from Liga Mario Mendoza in Navojoa, Sonora! Viva Mexico.”

Mario Mendoza Little League team makes history

The team members from Navojoa made history in the tournament by being the first team from Sonora to reach the final. The Mexican representative team managed to defeat the West Seoul League from South Korea during the semifinal match, which earned them a spot in the grand final.

Furthermore, the team was one of the standout teams in the tournament, as they remained undefeated after defeating the teams from Puerto Rico, Canada, and South Korea. This led to great baseball stars like Erubiel Durazo congratulating the great achievement of the Sonoran team.
