Carin León and Christian Nodal nominated at the 2023 Latin Grammys in Spain

Carin León and Christian Nodal will participate in the Latin Grammy Awards, which will take place on November 16th in Seville, Spain. The live broadcast can be watched through Univision in the United States and on TNT for Latin America. Also, via streaming on the HBO Max platform.

Two of the most prominent Sonoran artists in today’s music scene are nominated in the 24th edition of the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards, which will be presented for the first time in Seville, Spain, on November 16, 2023.

In this ceremony, the best of Latin music produced between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023, will be awarded, a period during which both Sonoran artists released several of the most significant productions of their careers.

The caborquense Christian Nodal released the album ‘Forajido EP2’, which includes hits like “Cazzualidades,” “Un Cumbión Dolido,” and “Por El Resto De Tu Vida,” which have been some of the most significant songs for the singer.

On the other hand, the Hermosillo native Carin León released ‘Colmillo de Leche,’ an album that continues to be highly ranked on various digital platforms, featuring songs like “Primera Cita,” “Ni me Debes Ni Te Debo,” and “No Es Por Acá.”

Nominated artists

The Hermosillo native is nominated for “Best Norteño Music Album,” while Christian Nodal has two nominations: the first one is for “Best Ranchera/Mariachi Music Album,” and the second one is for “Best Regional Mexican Song” with the song “La Siguiente.”

Similarly, artists Shakira, Bizarrap, Christina Aguilera, Karol G, and Natalia Lafourcade will compete in categories such as “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.”

The ceremony will take place on November 16 in Seville, Spain, and the live broadcast can be followed through Univision in the United States and on TNT for Latin America, or via streaming on the HBO Max platform.

It’s worth noting that the nominated artists will be competing in 56 categories, and this year three more categories and a new area have been added: “Composer of the Year,” “Best Singer-Songwriter Song,” and “Best Urban Performance in Portuguese Language.”

Who will perform at the ceremony’s party?

In addition to Carin León and Christian Nodal, Laura Pausini has also confirmed her participation with a performance, as she will be honored as “Person of the Year.” Other artists who will be there include Rauw Alejandro, Kany García, Alejandro Sanz, Feid, Bizarrap, and María Becerra.

Who is Carin León?

Oscar Armando Díaz De León Huez, better known as Carin León, was born on July 26, 1989, in Hermosillo, Sonora. In addition to his voice, he is recognized in the industry as a composer and guitarist. He began playing the guitar during his secondary school years, as he was surrounded by a family of artists on his mother’s side.

Who is Christian Nodal?

Christian Jesús González Nodal was born in Caborca, Sonora, on January 11, 1999. He is a Mexican singer, musician, composer, producer, director, and entrepreneur. His first single, “Adiós Amor,” released in 2016, catapulted him to fame in Mexico, a significant part of Latin America, and the United States.

The Latin Grammy

This ceremony is the Latin version of the Grammy Awards presented by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. It recognizes artistic and technical excellence in recorded music through peer voting for music productions in the Spanish or Portuguese language, as well as in languages, dialects, or idiomatic expressions recognized in Ibero-America. According to the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Latin Grammy Awards cover Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and the Latino community in Canada and the United States.

In the year 2000, the first Latin Grammy Awards ceremony took place in the United States and was broadcast on the CBS network. It was the first Spanish-language television program to be aired in prime time by a U.S. network.
