Sierra San Pedro Mártir is a destination that, until now, few people are aware of. However, over the years, it has gained exposure among those who enjoy nature due to its wide range of activities such as rock climbing, hiking, and the observation of flora and fauna, among others.

With the arrival of the winter season, there is a transformation in various tourist destinations in Mexico, such as Sierra San Pedro Mártir in Baja California. Its landscape changes with the arrival of snow, as does La Rumorosa.

Located four hours away from the center of Ensenada, Baja California, there is a National Park where, around mid-November when the first rains arrive and a drop in temperature is reported, the first snowfalls occur, transforming the landscape of this destination.

The white color blankets the mountainous system of the area and its vegetation. Its coniferous forest is a place where endemic species such as the bighorn sheep and the California condor live.

Furthermore, the Sierra San Pedro Mártir National Park is a place to enjoy winter, as within its facilities, there is the possibility to access cabins for overnight stays.

Within the Sierra San Pedro Mártir National Park, there is an observatory operated by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). It was constructed due to the unique characteristics of the site that make it ideal for the observation of stars and constellations.

La Rumorosa, Baja California

Located just 30 minutes from the charming town of Tecate, the village of La Rumorosa is known for its sunsets and being one of the most unique mountainous areas along the border. Its landscape is characterized by ochre-colored rock formations, and you can hear sounds similar to human whispers, which is how it got its name.

During the winter season, its warm and ochre landscape transforms into a white snowy wonderland from La Rumorosa to the Laguna Salada area. Visitors can build snowmen, create snow angels, go for hikes, or take photographs for social media in this picturesque setting.

• Barrancas del Cobre

Located in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara, in the state of Chihuahua, Copper Canyon is one of the best places to visit with snow in our country.

• Pico de Orizaba

Also known as Citlaltépetl, Pico de Orizaba is one of the most famous snow-covered mountains in the country. You can reach it from Puebla or Veracruz since it is located between these states.

• Sombrerete, Zacatecas

It is one of the famous Magical Towns with snow and is one of the favorite places for travelers visiting Zacatecas. During the cold months of the year, the buildings and stone houses are covered in snow.

• Nevado de Toluca

Also known as Xinantécatl, it is considered one of the best places to enjoy snow in Mexico because it has one of the most spectacular natural settings in our country.
