The corridos tumbados singer supports the team to continue their training and community activities
To support young talents in sports and education, corridos tumbados singer Natanael Cano, originally from Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, has become the official sponsor of Búhos FC, the soccer team of the University of Sonora (Unison).
Through their social media channels, the team representing the leading educational institution and being a part of the Tercera División Profesional, unveiled the “CT” logo that will appear on their uniforms, symbolizing Natanael Cano with his “Corridos Tumbados.”
In the caption of the post, they mention, ‘Many thanks to our friend @natanael_cano for trusting in us and supporting Sonoran sports.’
During their match against Premier Futbol Club last Friday at the Miguel Castro Servín Stadium, where the Unison team secured a 2-0 victory, the players wore ‘El Nata’ branding on the front of their Búhos jerseys.
Free clinics
On the other hand, thanks to the support from the corridos tumbados singer, all 32 members of the Unison team will continue providing free clinics to girls and boys in various neighborhoods of Hermosillo and its surroundings.
It’s worth noting that the first clinic took place in November 2022, in the La Victoria ejido, where the players interacted with the children and provided professional training.
According to Búhos FC’s sports director, Enrique Velázquez, when he contacted the artist’s team, they mentioned that he was excited about supporting the young people from Hermosillo and students with financial resources to cover their league registration, travel, uniforms, accommodation, and meals for the players.
“The athlete has to study and often work, so this kind of support is very important for their development,” he commented.
The Búhos FC team is composed of 22 players who study at the University of Sonora and 10 others in high schools in Hermosillo. They clinched the first place in the 2023 National University Games in Sonora and are considered one of the top 8 teams in the national league.
