The Sheriff’s Zombie Run is an immersive, apocalyptic race. You’re not racing against the clock; you’re running from bloodthirsty, brain-hungry zombies spreading a deadly virus. And for the first time ever, it’s happening in El Paso, Texas!
In the Sheriff’s Zombie Run, you’ll be fleeing from zombies hunting for your health. How does that work? Before the race begins, you’ll be given a belt with flags that represent your life. By the end of the race, you need to have at least one flag intact—or else, you’re “dead.” It might be harder than you think!
To survive, you’ll be on your own, so you’ll need to think fast, strategize, and use your speed to make it to the finish line, or the “alive” line, which makes you immune to these undead creatures.
How to Register for the Sheriff’s Zombie Run
The event has limited spots—only 300 people can sign up, so time is running out if you want to be part of this one-of-a-kind experience, which might not happen again.
You can register from October 1 to 25 for $35 per person, but after that, race-day registration will cost $45. The best part? You won’t leave empty-handed! Every participant will receive a goodie bag, including a torn flag from the event as a keepsake. To sign up, visit Run Sign Up, where you’ll enter your age, full name, and email address to receive updates on your registration. Once you’ve paid for your spot, you’re in!

Want to volunteer as a zombie for the race?
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is looking for volunteers to join the Sheriff’s Zombie Run during the Fall Festival on October 26 at Ascarate Park.
“Come in your best zombie costume for a chance to win cash prizes for the two best-dressed zombies!” reads a post on social media.
“If you need volunteer hours for school or your organization, this is a super fun way to earn them,” the post added.
