The star commemorating Jenni Rivera’s legacy was found vandalized with black paint on Monday morning, just two weeks after its installation on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On June 27, Jenni Rivera was honored with the 2,783rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This star, featuring her name inscribed in bronze, was meant to celebrate her career and artistic achievements. However, on Monday, July 8, the star was completely covered in black paint.
The vandalism was reported on the ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ Instagram account, highlighting that it was fans of the late Diva de la Banda who first noticed and reported the damage. “This morning, fans reported that Jenni Rivera’s star has been vandalized. This is unacceptable!” the Hollywood Walk of Fame organization stated in a message on X.
The perpetrators behind this act of vandalism remain unknown at this time.
Jenni Rivera’s Daughter Speaks Out About the Vandalism
Following reports of the vandalism, Jacquie Rivera, daughter of the Diva de la Banda, addressed the situation on the same Instagram account, expressing her gratitude to her mother’s fans for attempting to clean the freshly unveiled star.
Jacquie shared a video discussing the incident: “They went to visit, and when they arrived, it was completely covered with black paint, from the photos they sent me, I assume it was black paint.”
In her statement, she explained that those who reported the vandalism also took it upon themselves to clean the star. “They sent me photos and videos of themselves, the fans, her family, and other fans who were there, all cleaning the star,” she said.
Additionally, she mentioned that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce later carried out a professional cleaning to restore the star from any potential damage.
