The first-ever “Howl-O-Scream” 5K race will take place on October 20th at SeaWorld San Diego.
Participants can choose to walk or run through the theme park, encountering Halloween surprises, photo-op spots, and spooky characters along the route. Kids can also join in the fun with the “Kids Half-Mile Fun Run,” a shorter race designed for children.
All participants will receive an official race T-shirt, a race bib, a timing chip, a unique finisher’s medal, and will be eligible for awards.
The top three finishers in the men’s, women’s, and non-binary categories will each win a voucher for a pair of shoes and two admission tickets to SeaWorld San Diego. Additionally, the top three finishers in each age division will also receive two SeaWorld San Diego admission tickets.
Registration fees start at $30.50 for children and $58.50 for adults. Participants are encouraged to come in costume, though masks will not be allowed as part of the attire.
Parking opens at 5:30 AM, with the 5K race kicking off at 7:00 AM and the kids’ race starting at 8:30 AM.

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego returns since Friday, September 27th, and will run on select nights through November 2nd.

The 2024 lineup features the debut of a brand-new, high-energy live show, electrifying DJ sets, and an immersive haunted experience on one of SeaWorld’s most thrilling roller coasters after dark.
