Once a bustling mining town, Bisbee has transformed into a quirky, artistic haven that attracts visitors with its unique blend of old-world charm and modern-day vibrancy. If you have 48 hours to explore Bisbee, here’s a guide to help you make the most of your time in this delightful town.

Day 1: Immerse Yourself in Bisbee’s History and Art

8 am to 12 pm: Discover Bisbee’s Mining Heritage

Start your adventure with a hearty breakfast at Bisbee Breakfast Club, where you can savor delicious pancakes, omelets, and freshly brewed coffee. Once you’re fueled up, head to the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum. As a Smithsonian affiliate, this museum offers an engaging look into Bisbee’s rich mining history. Explore exhibits showcasing artifacts from the town’s copper mining days and learn about the lives of the miners who shaped Bisbee.

1 to 5 pm: Journey into the Underground and Enjoy local flavors

After the museum, make your way to the Queen Mine Tour. Don a hard hat and miner’s lamp as you descend into the cool depths of the Queen Mine. Experienced guides, many of whom are retired miners, will lead you through the tunnels, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the mining industry and Bisbee’s heyday. For lunch, visit Screaming Banshee Pizza. This local favorite offers a variety of wood-fired pizzas, salads, and appetizers in a cozy, eclectic setting. 6 pm to 11 pm: Stroll Through Historic Bisbee, Dine and Unwind

Spend your afternoon wandering through the historic downtown area. The streets of Old Bisbee are lined with beautifully preserved Victorian buildings that house art galleries, antique shops, and boutiques. After lunch at a local restaurant, you can even repeat the spot, spend your afternoon at The Bisbee Soap & Sundry Company, where you can browse handmade soaps, candles, and other artisanal products. If you’re looking for a bit of pampering, book a massage or spa treatment at Relaxation Therapy Center.

6 to 10 pm: Wrap Up Your Adventure

End your Bisbee adventure with dinner at Thuy’s Noodle Shop, where you can enjoy flavorful Vietnamese dishes in a cozy setting. After dinner, catch a show at Bisbee’s historic Royal Theatre or enjoy live music at The Quarry.
