What happened to Natanael Cano?

The scandal erupted after videos were shared on social media showing Natanael Cano speeding through the streets of Hermosillo, being stopped by the police on two occasions.

The recordings show the singer handing money to the officers, apparently as an attempt to avoid the legal consequences of his traffic violations.

According to testimonies gathered from the viral videos, Cano allegedly offered money to the police officers to allow him to continue his reckless driving. At one point in the recording, the singer can be heard saying, “I won’t even count, take it,” as he reaches out his hand to one of the officers, who takes the money and walks away in his patrol car.

In addition to the video where he offered money to the police, there was also news about the closure of the Maukaa restaurant in San Carlos, as they exceeded the operating hours and there was underage alcohol consumption, and the singer was present that night.

Reactions and public apology

The incident occurred on March 29th when Natanael Cano was detained for speeding on the streets of Hermosillo.

Following the spread of the videos, Natanael Cano faced a wave of criticism on social media. However, the singer issued a public apology in which he admitted to making mistakes and assured that he had already paid the administrative fines corresponding to his traffic violations.

In his apology message, Cano expressed his desire to personally meet with the commissioner of the municipal police of Hermosillo to offer him an “in-person” apology.
